Help with Out of License

R

Rob

Hello,

Here is the situation:

I installed Win2k server with 100 Per Seat license (I
believe Per Seat licensing allows my machines to connect
to multiple servers without buying CAL for each server).
Upgraded the server to domain controller for Active
Directory on a network by itself. During another
installation of Win2k server on another box, I added it to
be a domain controller to the existing domain (that is,
the first machine).

I now have only two machines on the network - the domain
controllers. I am getting Event ID 202 (Out of License)
on my box. Why am I getting this error when there are
only two machines (domain controllers) on this network?

Thanks

Brian,

I setup the first computer with per seat as a stand-alone
server then upgraded to domain controller. The second
computer was added to the domain during installation (that
is, I did not make it a stand-alone first then added to
domain). Should I have done that? Should I have used per
server instead of per seat?

Thanks

All you need to do is add the licenses purchased into Licensing under
Adminisrative Tools. It should show up in the first tab as Purchased
History.
