I have the following set up for a group of users who regularly publish
web pages through front page 2003. I am trying to set up source control
for my group. so far I 've been successful getting the vss installed on
the webserver and checking out and checking in web pages through front
page from my machine.
The problem is with the rest of the users. whenever they try to edit a
web page , Front page will prompt the user to check out the page to
edit. when the user tries to check out, he gets the error "There is a
problem with the source control integration on your server.Contact your
web administrator".

configuration:

Visual source safe version 6.0
Web server OS : windows 2003 server, IIS 6.0, Front page 2003,
microsoft front page 2002 extension.
User machine: WIN XP, Front page 2003

any help to resolve this will be highly appreciated.

Do the web editors have SourceSafe client on their local box?

Yes, they can login to their VSS client on their local machies.

Reeza, did you ever figure out the cause or fix for this problem? Almost 2 years later, I have the exact same scenario happening here with pretty much the same configuration. Thanks.
