Unable to publish web pages

When trying to publish updated pages, and after putting in user name and
password that I have used for 3 years, front page says: a web site does not
exist at http://etc. Would you like Front Page to create a website at that
location?
Clearly the web site CAN be seen by the public on the net at the location.
When I say "no" the remote website properties page pops up and I start all
over again to no avail.
When I say "yes" a message pops up that says: "An error occurred accessing
your windows share point services site files. Authors--if authoring against a
web server, please contact the webmaster for this server's web site.
Webmasters--please see the server's application event log for more details"

I have spent hours on the phone with comcast who hosts these personal web
pages and they say everything is OK. What to do next?!!

Have your host to a server health check on the FP SE
- if that doesn't help try opening the site from IE using File Edit w/ FP
