Publishing Error accessing web files

I suddenly cannot publish to any of my established
websites (I have 3). I receive the following error
message:
"An error occurred accessing your Front Page web files.
Authors - if authoring against a web server, please
contact the webmaster for this server's site. Webmasters
please see the server's system log for more details.

This occurs after I choose File, Publish and then hit the
Publish button on the "Publish Web" box. Any ideas? I
have been publishing these websites this way for a year
with no problem.
