VPN problems

I have two laptops connected to the internet by cable.
Both are running XP home and VNP 3.5. Both have all the
updates for windows and explorer. One laptop will connect
with my office server put the other one will not. The
properties for vpn on both laptops are the same. Internet
properties are the same on both. Both laptops are HP's. I
am out of ideas does any have any ideas.
