VPN Pings Intermittently

I have a Win2k VPN server that our users connect into. the
problem that I am having is now all of a sudden the
connectivity is spotty at best through the VPN. I ping and
get mybe 1 reply and then nothing but then sometimes It
returns all of the pings. I tried to build another VPN
server on a different server, using a different router and
ISP and the same thing happens.

I can ping internally fine and no-one in the office is
experiencing any problems. I am running out of ideas and
any help would be greatly appreciated...thanx

Have you checked the tracert output? What does it show?

Are you able to reach the client from the VPN Server? Or does the tracert
output from the Server also give the same status as from the client?

A tracert shows it hitting the VPN server then nothing. everything is on 1

subnet here. lots of times I'll ping and get 1 reply then 3 timeouts. I can
wait 10 minutes then ping the same address and I'll get 1 timeout and then 3
replies. once in awhile it will work fine and I'll get 4 replies but that
doesn't happen often or for long enough. If you have any suggestions I'm all
ears. I'm pretty much out of ideas
