VPN Connection did work now doesnt

I have several VPN connections on my XP laptop. I use them to remote
support customers, without warning I now cannot use around half of
them. I reach the verifying username stage and then eventually error
721 appears "the remote computer did not respond".

I know the remote end is Ok as I can use another machine in the office
to connect but also my laptop has some VPN connection which will still
work ? so my tcp/ip seems to be correct ??

Any pointers ??

The remote server may have error in the event viewer. That may give you a tip.
