VPN Client not able to map to Server Drive?

My VPN client connects to our office network through the VPN capability of
our firewall-router. The client, once connected, is able to ping network
servers using netbios names. Client is able to map to shared folders on
member servers. However, the client is not able to map to our primary domain
controller's shared folders (using I.P. address or netbios name). I get
error System Error 53: "The Network Path was not found."

Does your client have the same private IP as the DC?
