VPN - can't map drive

I am getting VPN connections, passwords accepted (domains or non-domains) but
when I try to map a drive it says the Network Path can not be found. Windows
98 and Windows 2000 software with operating system VPN software, host and
client.

is it something simple I'm overlooking? Thanks.

What are the IP addresses of your host and remote?

Can you get name resolution? If you "ping theservername" does it resolve
to an IP address?

Try mapping to the ip address rather than the name ie

\\ip.ad.dr.ess\folder
