VPN * Can no longer create or use exsisting VPN definitions

Looking for some help..... I am not sure what has changed or happened but
the result is that on my XP Pro SP2 machine I can no longer use VPN Clients
that exsisted and worked just a day ago to connect. I also attempted to
create NEW VPN Clients using the wizard and even though I select workplace,
do not dialup an initial connection etc.. when i finish the saved Cleint
profile is created as a DIAL-UP type connection.

Please any suggestions to save me from a format and a rebuild of the entire
system

thanks in advance

You may not have miniport in the device manager. Try to re-install TCP/IP. This search result may help,

Thank you for the reply. I had read this and looked and yes the mini-ports
for both are there. I am quite certain it is an authority issue. Again am
not sure what happened but at the same time this all started when i went to
access office products it went through a "reinstall" exercise and also the
same with my symantec anti virus client and then Nero also required
reinstallation. Very odd but certainly do not wish to rebuild the machine if
I can avoid it.

Any direction to which objects I may verify authority on? Appreciate it.
