Volume Labels

When I look at Disk Management, there are no lables on my
two HDD's. I can see the drive letters in My Computer,
etc., but in some applications the drive letter is blank
due to the missing labels. How could the volume labels
disappear and, more importantly, how do I restore them.

Volume labels aren't necessary and probably weren't there to begin with.
Your problem lies elsewhere.

Can you explain how a drive letter can be blank in an application? What
program and what are you doing?
