Volume icon in taskbar disappears!

C

Cory

Every time I start my computer the volume icon in the
taskbar is gone. I have to go into "Sounds and Devices
Properties", where the box "Place volume icon in the
taskbar" is checked. I uncheck it, hit apply, check it,
hit apply, and then it is back.

But the next time the computer starts, it is gone again.

It's a VAIO laptop, running XP Home.

I would appreciate any help with this because it's really
annoying.

.
Are you shutting down your system by clicking on START,
then TURN OFF COMPUTER, then TURN OFF?
Or, are you simply switching off the power?

If you are simply switching off the power, your settings
will not be saved, which would result in your problem.

Hope this helps.

To use the Regedit: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it
