Taskbar volume Icon

To an expert(s) out there this is my problem:

Whenever I startup, the Volume (Speaker) icon is absent from the taskbar. This
is how I've got to turn it on: I go to Sounds and audio devices
properties>volume tab and I UNCHECK.. yes UNCHECK "place volume icon in the
taskbar" then click "apply" then re check "place volume icon in the taskbar"
then "apply",and it appears. How do I get it to automatically go there on
startup as obviously that checkbox doesnt do it? what is the problem here?
and how do I fix it?

Thank you,,,, jrs

Go to Kelly's site: http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_abc.htm
Click on "V" and scroll to Volume Control for some tips.

You may have set the icon to be hidden when inactive.
Look at Start>Taskbar and Start Menu>Hide Inactive Icons>Customise

Hey Smirnoff, and Rock.
I actually was killing myself for nothing the only detail I noticed after
checking everything was that the "lock the taskbar option" was not checked
and this made "le diferance" which fixed the problem, however it is nice to
know that there are guys like you that are always up for the challange and
this helps alot THX
