Volume COntrol Panel

Please help. The Volume control is nolonger on the notification bar. It tells me to go to add remove programs but i can't find it there either. I followed the direction given to the question on 1/14/04. The snd file does exist and will pop up the volume panel, but I can't get it to display with a click of a button, and when I go to the Sound control and tell it to do so, it still tells me that there is no Volume control panel installed

We are having the same problem and wanted to know if you had found a solution yet. We get the same error message and my husband is going crazy. Please if you have the answer of what to do help us. Thank you
