I'm having problems with my wireless adaptor and Vista on my desktop PC.
It must be a local problem to this machine since my laptop (in the same room
but running XP) works fine - both using wireless connections.
I have two problems.
1. Often when I boot my desktop PC I only get "local" access - rather than
"local and Internet" access. I have to fiddle around to eventually get
Internet access (usually by disconnecting and reconnecting my adaptor,
sometimes by "repairing" it - using Vista).
2. Sometimes when I connect, the connection is very slow. I suspect this is
the wireless part of my connection rather than the Internet part.
What could be the problem? Is Vista wireless support OK? I have an old (PCI)
wireless adaptor from Belkin (about 2-3 years old). Could it be my wireless
adaptor?
If I need to get a more up-to-date adaptor, can anyone recommend an
inexpensive one that works well with Vista?
Cheers.
