Try this instead:

http://www.openoffice.org/

It's better than Works and it's free.
It also handles graphics better than MS Office and pages better. It has
most of the features one really needs. Some of the features like
envelopes and mail merge are not as polsihed but do work ok. Most of
those issues are the way Linux handles printers and may be ok when
running Open Office under Windows.

What is nice using products like Open Office, Gimp, Firefox, Thunderbird
and the host of other free Open Source products is that once you learn
them you can carry your knowledge and experience over to Mac or Linux if
you want to go to other OS. You are no longer married to Microsoft with
their copy protection, Microsoft Genuine Disadvantage and the other crap
coming out of a company that USED to place the customer first.

If MS pulled their crap in the early days of computing they would have
gone the way of Lotus and Borland. Remember them?

Go to this Microsoft site and download the complete update:

http://tinyurl.com/5eps4q

There are a lot of versions... they are all listed by language. Be
careful to download the one that is the same as your version of Vista.

Follow the directions on how to install it.

Liar!

Liar!

They're crap!

More crap!

Learn? What you really learn is that MS Office is the world's standard
and for good reasons.

You are no longer married to Microsoft with
their copy protection, Microsoft Genuine Disadvantage and the other crap
coming out of a company that USED to place the customer first.
Bullshit!

If MS pulled their crap in the early days of computing they would have
gone the way of Lotus and Borland. Remember them?

Like I said, MS Office is what the businesses of the world run on.
Of course, you're too stupid to know that.

ther no donlad for the complete file just its parts.

Download the "part" that is for your version of Vista. If that is
English (your spelling leads me to think English isn't your primary
language) then download the one ending with "en-US.cab"

Install it per the directions on that site.

Hey Paul, if you don't mind my asking, where in IL do you live roughly?
I'm just curious because you will make the 4th person I know of that
frequents this group located in my area. If you don't care to share
that's fine too.

RIGHT!

And there were instructions... they told you to double-click the
downloaded file. You must have figured that out for yourself.

CONGRATULATIONS.

You got an answer from a dummy that spends his money on "doobies" , but
thinks buying software is a waste of money.

Office is waayyyy better than that Open Source crap.

I hope this helps I also have HP computer with Vista Home Premium

First go to the Download at:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...c3-9c6f-4049-81cd-0d0389c81f11&DisplayLang=en

Then on the bottom of the page select the download you need,( for English it
is KB955428_en-US.cab) and click download.
Then click OPEN
Then in new window, click the icon and then select DESKTOP and click EXTRACT

This will put the file on your Desktop. Close all open windows.
On the desktop, click the update Shortcut you just created and allow it to
install Note: There may not be any indication of its installing so just give
it time to
Install. Also if you have a WORKS shortcut on you desktop, it may disappear.

Then check to see if the update installed, go to INSTALLED UPDATES
CONTROL PANEL>PROGRAMS AND FEATURES>VIEW INSTALLED UPDATES (In the Left side
Panel) and look for Microsoft Works and if the
Update is listed, If it is, then it is installed,

Then you can replace your Works Shortcut and delete the Update shortcut on
your desktop
