Vista Ultimate on 46 in 1080P widescreen. Display hard on eyes at

I have a Sony Bravia 46 inch KDL-46XBR2 1920x 1080P connected to Windows
Vista Ultimate via hdmi to dvi (8800 GTX graphics Card). I sit approximately
seven feet away and have to strain to read some dialog boxes and some web
sites (gadgets are way to small as well like the calendar and unlike websites
the gadgets cannot be size adjusted manually).

I have adjusted the dpi settings to something like 180 with the xp option
selected (not at home and don't remember the wording) and it works to a point
however a lot of dialog boxes from certain programs are too big and will not
let me move them or resize them and since they're off screen I have to tab
and guess which option I'm on.

Due to the issues I've encounted using high DPI I have reluctantly resorted
to reducing my resolution and using the large icon dpi setting which for the
most part seems to be working but for video and images I'd like to have the
higher resolution and not have to change all the time.

Any solution to this? Any one else with a 1920x 1080P display that has a
difficult time using it as a computer? It's a little crazy and I never
thought of this before I built my computer.

Any help is appreciated.

I have the same question. Anyone have a good solution for this problem?

sounds like expensive toys. however if you have money to spare, what about
larger screen 52" or bigger? that should give you about 20% larger icon
without changing dpi

or use some projector against properly painted wall

the cheap $600 benq used at work produce pretty sharp image on whiteboard at
8 ft away when are about 9 or 10 ft from the whiteboard

one disadvantage or caveat about projector: never let any catch the light
beam in the eye - its blinding for quite while as one co-worker found out
from experience. It is worse than the old home movie projector
