Vista won't detect 1080p display

Hi,
I am using a geforce go 7600gt with hdmi output running vista ultimate. When
it was xp pro the hdmi output worked fine displaying to my SOny 46x2000 in
1080p and carrying sound through the hdmi. Now since upgrading (tried with
all latest drivers) it will only display in 1080i and there is no mode in the
list to tell it to display in 1080p, it no longer carries sound through the
hdmi either. I have written to Sony and they say it is a Vista issue. Any
help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

This is probably one of the many issues with nVidia's drivers. Is this on a
laptop?

Are you running Vista 32 bit or Vista 64bit?
What release of the NVIDIA Vista drivers from the NVIDIA Website are you
using?

Thanks for the response.
I am on a laptop with vista ultimate 32 bit and nvidia driver version
7.15.10.9813. I had upgraded to the 165.01 driver but decided to go back to
the latest sony supplied driver due to a random dark screen effect yesterday.
I have tried the whole range of nvidia drivers for vista 32 bit from
laptopvideo2go.com with no success.
Thanks again.
