nVidaia: Black screen before Vista startup - Possible Solution

I have a nVidia 7900 and have upgraded to Vista ultimate from XP. The
updated dispaly adapter driver 7.15.10.9816 caused my screen to go black when
attempting re-install. I ended up running clean-install with Vista which
fixed the driver if it was corrupted. What other people should be aware
about is their screen resolutions and DPI scaling. When I set my screen
resolution to the hightest 1680x1050 and switched the default DPI scaling
from 96 DPI to 120 DPI, which increased the size of the desktop icons, the
screen went blank during system restart. I went into safemode and switched
it back to 96 DPI and Vista started normal. I don't know if anyone else is
having this specific problem with the nVidia 7900 but it may help
troubleshoot with other nVidia cards.

Are you using the Microsoft-supplied just barely functional drivers, or
are you using nVidia's latest driver?
