Vista reboot can't find OS after a application crash

I ran a query in an application on Vista PC and systeme hangs. After giving
up waiting I rebooted only to find that it tried to do a network boot which
fails and then says there is no OS! I must get the PC back into action. How
can I get the PC to start again either to fix it or begin looking around,
perhaps at the boot.ini file?

If it's trying to boot off the network, check your boot order in the BIOS.
