It would seem that the released version of Vista is a bit 'slow' when it
comes to accessing a network. With a gigabit connection and Windows XP,
Windows 2003 R2 servers, we experience a bit of a pause when clicking the
'Network' icon. Vista seems to look for Vista PCs first and then look for
other OS'. Here is the process:
1. Click on 'Network' from the desktop
2. Local PC name shows up
3. Approximately 2-3 seconds later, all remaining domain PCs and Servers
show up
This seems to happen all the time. Data transfer speeds are fine. It just
seems to stall when showing all the PCs and servers in the domain. Have
performed the following:
1. BIOS is up-to-date
2. Intel NIC driver is up-to-date
3. IPv6 has been unchecked
4. Receive Window Auto-Tuning Level has been disabled
Anyone else experiencing this issue? Is there a fix?
