Help Network qeury?

T

The Forgotten

I have recently had a new pc installed in the office. it is running windows
Vista home premium.

I need to do two things....

1: delete obsolete network connections on the 2 other office PCs (running
XP)

2: Set up my Vista pc as the host of a new network that allows the two other
PCs to access files on

any advice or pitfalls?

PS: the original network runs through a modem router which has 4 inputs for
the ethernets of the 3 pc to run into.

Cheers in advance.

The public networking is NOT the way to go; it is for use in airports,
hotels, etc; hotspots (a security issue). You need private network to see
other computers on it. And in the 2 XP comps, change the workgroup name from
MSHOME to WORKGROUP; which is the same name of the vista workgroup, which is
WORKGROUP

Solved it all in minutes thanks to Network Magic. My only worry is that
will the network I have set up dissapear after the 20 day trial?

Anyone know?

TIA

Mick, I think you misunderstood my reply. I was referencing Public Folders;
not networks.

Glad to see you got it working though.
