Vista full or upgrade dvd

Excuse me if this is a dumb question but I've seen mention
on this newsgroup that if you purchase the vista upgrade,
the media is not bootable. Is this true? The XP upgrade came
on bootable media so I could do a clean install. I definately
want to install vista on a clean disk. Thanks!

Yes it's true. It wouldn't be a dumb question if it hadn't been asked and
answered here many times, but it has.

It has been stated that it WILL be bootable for repair purposes, but the
install will not be available from the DVD

Will we be able to get a OEM that will be bootable.
Upgrades really suck.
Full versions are to spendy.
Guess that leaves XP hu?
