Vista Bug

What a moronic insight from a Microsoft Hater.

Another clueless poster.
If you intentionally deplete
system resourses to cause a crash, you see that as a bug?

I didn't intentionally deplete anything. VISTA DID you dumbass twit.
Does ANYBODY know how to read who said what? You sure don't. Try again
before you attribute to me what I didn't say.

Jupiter needs another lesson in humility.

Try this:

1. Go to a binaries newsgroup.

2. Make sure the news reader's image viewer is set to Photo Gallery.

3. Select a 100 or more images as a group, then the newsreader's auto
launch option so images display as they download.

Sit back and watch moronic Vista open multiple instances of Photo
Galley until it runs out of system resources and at some point
depending on how much memory you have and the size of the images you
are downloading it crashes. Just a real world variation of the other
example. Of course fanboys will say it isn't a bug, no, crashing your
system is a undocumented "feature" Microsoft took five years to
develop.

I have a better idea for you mr genius.
Stick a gun in your mouth and pull the trigger.
Oh! You just blew your fat, bald, stupid head off!
OMG, it's the gun manufacturer's fault (no, you're drunk & stupid you
idiot!).
Call my lawyer!
Why? You're dead you moron!
hehehe...lol.

Too funny, you can't even spell idiot. Hint: No L in idiot.
I don't use Linux.

Anymore smart comments?

You know, we're sick and tired of you posting pics of your ugly family
members.

Yet you being the idiot you are you respond everytime I snap my
fingers.

Linux does exactly the same thing. Try clicking the Firefox icon in
PCLinuxOS 50 times. You end up with a butt load of non-responsive Firefox
windows. You close them all but it doesn't crash - just like Vista.

Of course in Vista this is a bug or BAD DESIGN!!!!!!! In Linux it's
working as designed.

Mac OS X avoids this issue by making every app "single instance" only. The
only way to get multiple instances of an app in OS X is to resort to command
line trickery.

Mike

So that makes it a bug. Vista (any decent OS/Application) should be
smart enough to recognize that opening the next instance of explorer
will consume all of the computer resource and just not open another
rather than keep on opening them until the system crashed. In fact it
should stop long before the point of system lock up. Of course MS chose
to put all the 'power' of Vista into the interface looking all glitzy
and pretty rather than have it not crash on things like this. Typical
of the new track of MS, presentation over use and power... Vista is the
new WinME.

Wrong!

:)

now what?

Troll.

BAD DESIGN. Good programmers anticipate and PLAN for all possible
contingencies.

There is a hack that can do that with any web browser. Better call up the
developers of Firefox and tell them they are clueless too because their
browser is vulnerable to this exploit. It's not if you use noscript plugin
though.

Have you tried it?
I have and there was no crash.
There were a lot of Windows I needed to close, that is all.

I would not consider it a bug since it works as designed.
You press the keys, one opens.
Hold down the keys, and more open.
Simply do not hold down the keys id you do not want multiple windows open.

Probably because it is easy to duplicate, it is routinely spread by
Windows critics in their vain attempt to show a nonexistent bug.

Back to the old idea:
If it hurts when you do it, don't do it.

Well, to be fair all Microsoft had to do was include an option to set how
may instances can be opened at once. Simple solution, huh?

Hackers have already exploited this "feature" in Windows by making multiple
instances of a web browser open causes the PC to crash. Surely Microsoft can
make it so this is not exploitable?

You can't have multiple instances of a file browser open? That sounds like
suckage. Multiple explorer windows open is how I do all my copy and move
operations.

don't even bother reading this thread....

Unless you enjoy nerds and redundancy....

ignorant poop...that's the word I thought of when I read just a few...

I think you're being too generous. These are the same "programmers"
that took five years and supposedly needed fifty million lines of code
to write a OS that will like every other version of Windows soon need
a major patch job to fix things in the released version. Laughable.
