Vista and MSN Music

J

Jeff

Hi,
Since I'm getting no response in the music newsgroup; I'll throw it out
here; and maybe someone can help.
Why does MSN Music refuse to synch with Vista?
When I try to play a song; that it allowed me to download;it won't play
it; it tries to synch with the MSN Music server; and never does.
What's up with this pic?
RC2 and other music services are working fine; even iTunes(gasp); in 5744.
What's the deal? Is MSFT abandoning MSN Music? As soon as Zune comes
aboard?
Any help? Oh and have done all the prelims; so if anyone has suggestions;
I'm game.

Lawd have mercy, don't even get me started on
MSN Music. It has never worked in all the Vista
versions I have tried. DRM sucks arse.

There is a way to convert your WMA protected files
into non-protected files. Google fairuse4WM. Do it
from WinXP. Then copy to Vista or play from the WinXP
folder you save the stripped files to.

Let this be a lesson, relying on DRM crap is a mistake.
I learned the hard way- never again.

Michael;
That may be; all well and good;but;since I have a few purchased cd's
worth of tunes;
I'm trying to get an answer to the MSN Music issue; and no-one;not MVP's;
nor MSFT;has ever responded.
Other than the patent; Vista is not a supported o.s. ; no help from tech
support; so I threw it in here.
Thanks for responding; at least.

Jeff, I never received any help from MSN Music.
It's not just Vista that's the problem- it's WMP 11
that is the problem. You can no longer backup and
restore your licenses in WMP.

I explained my situation in detail in a post here. During
a two year period, I paid for over 1,000 songs- many
whole albums. There were a couple of times when MSN
Music had some super cheap prices- I loaded up.

I hope you get it worked out, just don't count on any
help from MSN Music.

I will never buy from them again.
