Vista Aero glass style

Guest

I am running on a HP DC7100 with Intel 82915G onboard graphics card with
128Mb. I have not been able to successfully enable glass style. I don't even
have it on the themes / styles listing. I have just installed Beta 2 - 5384.

Any help appreciated. I have run the compatability test and all seems fine,
except the graphics card reports not having a WDDM driver. I cannot find a
driver to match, even though I have visted Intel's site.

Any ideas?

Memory is not the determining factor with Aero Glass capable grapics cards .
Exactly what card do you have?

Yes it is the Intel inside....

I have the Intel mobile 915GM/GMS/910GMC express chip set and the highest in
performance I get for my graphics is 2.0 all other functions are 3.1 to 3.6.

So, no Aero for me.

Unless you install a third party card.

Scratch the idea of installing a third party video card. You have an AGP
slot but the power supply is only 240W. All of the new cards I've have seen
since 2004 require at least 300W. Sorry about that.

From what I've read in the Dell user groups you can't replace the video or
add a video card, it's physically impossible.

Any suggestions.

Oh I have Dell Inspiron 6000
!.6GHZ Processor
2.0 Gig of RAM (shared with video about 500 meg)
14.1" widescreen monitor. I swapped out the 40gig HDD for 100gig.
Don't get me wrong I love the machince and use it daily. I even play the
SIMS 2 on it. It runs Vista just fine with quick response and 32 bit color.

But going forward I will only buy a PC (laptop or desktop) with seperate
video boards. When it comes to integrated mother board and graphics cards
"JUST SAY NO".

One thing everyone forgets to do is re-eval the performance after everything
is installed-mine starts after loading from ISO as a one-after running
performance scan it changes to a 3 and aero is available-start-control
panel-performance and rating- refresh my rating now (under the number) it
just might be reading wrong on initial rating when installing Vista
