I think that this is more of a problem that we realize. We are seeing the
tip of the iceberg I fear. There are countless thousands of Nvidia
motherboards out there.

This ISa big problem!! I am getting ready to migrate our systems to Vista in
my office and have a big HOLD ON the project because of this 'Activated but
not Genuine' problem. There needs to be an EASY fix for this....it is VERY
frustrating!!!

The easy fix would be not to apply the "Optional" Nvidia drivers from
windowsupdate.com. So far, it appears the fix if you do get the problem, is
just to re-install the Nvidia drivers if need be.

If you are migrating in an office enviroment, then You're probably using a
Volume License key, at which time I don't think you have to worry about
this. My GF's system uses Enterprise Edt and got the same Acticated issue,
but it didn't have a problem, and I'm guessing it's because the VL key isn't
limited to 1 system like an OEM or retail. Though I would have though my
MSDN key (good for 10 installs) would have passed as well, so maybe VL
doesn't really help.

I am having this problem on Vista 32-bit and reinstall of all NVIDIA drivers
does not help. I still get Windows is activated, but not genuine.

HELP!!!

Well here's what I did:

Uninstalled all the NVIDIA drivers (including video) -> did not help
Reinstalled WHQL versions of above.

Opened a command prompt: slui 4

Did telephone activation -> failed using unattended method -> transferred to
actual person

Activation successful with actual person from MS

Went to download.microsoft.com.

Downloaded DirectX setup (anything that requires WGA validation will do)

WGA validation passed, so download works.

Rebooted.

"Windows is Not Genuine" errors FINALLY went away.
