Suddenly Vista not Genuine anymore

Guest

Suddently today my Vista Home Premium is no long "genuine." When I follow
the link at the bottom of the message to "validate" my installation, it takes
me to a page that says it cannot validate until Vista is "activated." So I
go to "Computer", the "Properties" page and it shows that "Windows is
activated." If I try to change the product key and enter my valid license
key, the system connects to Microsoft Activation and comes up with a reply
that "Activation was successful." But when I then go to validate, it STILL
gives me the message that it cannot validate windows as genuine until I
activate it. Can anyone give me some help?

I think there may be a hotfix available for an issue similar to yours. Take a
look at the MS support site (search for "Vista") and see what you can find.

I'm assuming that, by your 'reply-to,' that you're somehow a Microsoft
professional in some manner...

"Microsoft’s Most Valuable Professionals (MVPs) are recognized, credible
and accessible individuals with expertise in one or more Microsoft®
products who actively participate in online and offline communities to
share their knowledge and expertise with other Microsoft customers."

And the best you could come up with was, "search for Vista"???

Nothing wrong with that advice. Remember, MVP != God (or Microsoft).

Uh...so having better search terms to reference is too much to ask from
an MVP??? You're right...I don't realize that this is your definition
of 'community.'

Mr. I.M. Puss:
To start out with you came up with a realization of something that I
didn't define, so it was just an assumption on your part. Now I will give
you part of my definition of "community"; 1) Don't correct or comment on a
post unless there is a major error or mis-statement, 2) Don't correct
spelling or grammar because English isn't everybody's common language, 3)
When answering a post be as accurate as possible, 4) Relax, this isn't a job
and 5) No community needs constant supervision & corrections. I didn't have
a better answer to the question that "Dapper Dan" asked so I didn't answer.
Have a great day.

And then post back on how it was resolved, please ;-)

No one posts 100% excellent posts all the time. Sadder than missing a few,
is someone who sits around poking useless errant criticism of others yet
providing nothing of value all the live long day.
