Vista 64 & Creative SB Live

Windows Update has just told me that there is a "Creative driver update for
Creative EMU10K1 Audio Processor (WDM)".

I have never downloaded driver updates from WU in the past, and given that
Creative are not supposed to be supporting the Live! on Vista, let alone
64bit, I am dubious.

Do I go for it, or will it likely screw up my system???

Remember - if it ain't broke - don't fix it.

If you plan to go ahead; use the belt-and-suspenders mode. Make a Restore
Point.

That's the point. It IS broke. I am stuck with my mobo onboard sound because
Creative ignored a huge section of their installed base by not producing
Vista (64) drivers for the Live! series of cards, so I saw this as a
potential opportunity to get the Live! working, but I'm highly suspicious of
drivers being offered by WUpdate.
