Lost sound with Vista installation -question from a dummie

The error is "This problem was caused by a compatibility issue between
Windows Vista and Creative EMU10K1 Audio Processor (WDM). This program was
created by Creative Technology, LTD."
Does this mean I need to install a new Sound Card? My pc is only 18 months
old and I bought the best possible video and sound cards and my sound - up
until yesterday - was awesome, now it is non existent. I have tried to update
drivers, but the system says my drivers are right. What do I have to do
please?

You say up until yesterday. What do you mean? Did you install Vista
yesterday and now you don't have sound? Was Vista working with your sound
card but yesterday mysteriously stopped? Have you checked your add remove
programs to see if you have your sound drivers listed. If so, go to the
Creative site and download the latest drivers for the version of Vista you
have. Remove the old drivers, reboot, install the new drivers and reboot
again. See if that helps. And be a little more informative when you post
back. Nobody here was looking over your shoulder yesterday or reading your
mind.
