Hi,
I am about to purchase a new PC and it seems most have x64 bit double
processors, but most suppliers offer them with Vista x32. would it not be
better to buy with Vista x64? Will the x32 version utilise both processors
or will one be redundant?

Thanks in advance,
David

Do you mean double processors as in 2 separate CPUs or double as in dual
core? I think you probably mean the latter? Anyway, Vista 32 will utilize
both cores or CPUs as required (as will Vista 64). The decision between
32-bit or 64-bit is mostly concerned with how much RAM you want. If you
have 4GB+ RAM then you need Vista 64.

Also note that the 32-bit version of Vista has better driver support in
general but, having said that, I am using Vista Ultimate x64 and have not
experienced any driver issues at all.

Unless you have mission critical 64bit programs and the need to run more
than 4gb RAM, stay with 32bit Vista..

64 bit simply doesn't work well with some web sites (especially those that
require flash player).

Using the 64-bit IE or 32-bit IE? I use Vista x64 but stick to the 32-bit
IE and have not experienced any web site problems.

I have 64 bit on my home desktop and Asus tablet. I am a little disappointed
at driver support, but everything works great and I feel 64 bit is the
future (but I've been wrong before). I just wish they had a 64 bit One-Care.

64bit is the future.. maybe tomorrow, but for today 32bit is the way for
most..

You can buy 32 and order the 64 discs for about $20. The big problem
is the lack of 64-bit drivers for everything. You can experiment.
Mainly you would use it for apps that need more than 2 gig of data in
RAM, e.g. a large Java app.

About $US10.00 shipping here in the USA.
