virus

..
Yesterday I had a phone call from some one to say that my phone bill was
£800. My young son took the call (which was a computer generated voice) so
he panicked and hung up the phone. This led me to think that my sons had
d/led a virus that had been dialing up premium rate lines without us
knowing.
I did a virus scan and found swizzor.ah on the pc. I think I have cleaned it
all now, and after turning off the system restore, my avg can't find any
more traces of it.
I have searched google and other search engines to see exactly what this
virus does, but i can find hardly no info on it at all. Could this be what
triggered for the phone call which alerted me, but seeing that my phone
company had its customer service lines closed until Monday, I wonder if it
was a hoax call.
Sorry for posting this here but I just am panicking and don't know who to
ask and where to go for help.
Can any one offer any help?
Thanks in advance
Blondie

First, make sure you turn Sys Restore back on, now that you're done (If you
haven't already). Second, I couldn't find anything on Symantecs site about
the Virus you speak of, but did see some threads regarding this after a
Google search, which yielded no real useful information. For piece of mind,
I would call your phone provider Monday. Good Luck.

The problem that you have had sounds like a "Trojan dialer program" , and is
quite common. They are mostly found and used on porn sites . They have the
capabilities to connect your modem and dial to their very expensive numbers.
Check msconfig / startup tab for exe. programs that may relate to such
programs . Jym
