I downloaded updates for my system and immediately got notification from my anti-virus that I had picked up PWS.Hooker.Trojan and that anti-virus could not do anything because it was denied access to the file. Info from my anti-virus told me to: 1. Disable system restor
2. Update virus definition
3. Run a full system scan and delete files detected as the viru
4. Delete the value that was added to the registr
I completed these steps, except #4, because the value that I was supposed to delete was not there????

When I run a system scan now, anti-virus tells me that I have no virus infections, however, the original warning remains posted in the center of my screen and will not go away. Also, programs that I do not generally use keep trying to open by themselves.

I cannot find a virus removal tool for PWS.Hooker.Trojan within my anti-virus program nor anywhere else that I have searched.

I am not very computer literate so please reply as simply and step by step as possible. Thanks, Don
