virus in system volume info

Hi all . I am using windows xp home . I recently started
using mchaffe virus scan and it keeps telling me that i
have a virus called downloaderde in this file (C:\System
Volume Information\_restore{8879DF42-934A-46) but i can
not get access to it to repalce it or delete it . has
anybody had this problem or heard of it. any thoughts
whould be greatly helpful Thanks T

It's a virus stuck in the system restore.

Turn off the system restore.
- http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=310405
Reboot.
Turn on the system restore.
Make a manual restore point.. Continue on with life normally.

To add to my first post i am using mchaffee pro edition
7.03.6 if this helps T

To add to my first post I am using McAfee pro edition 7.03.6 if
this helps T

It doesn't, really. My answer I gave originally still stands: (heh)

It's a virus stuck in the system restore.
