Virus in System Volume Information folder

McAfee ViruScan detected a virus in (C:\System Volume
Information\_restore{E8771A48-908B-42E4-B327-1E93DEE4218B}
\RP24\A0005370.EXE) on my PC and was unable to clean the
virus. It recommended deleting the folder. What are the
consequences of deleting that folder? Any advice will be
appreciated.

Thanks,
Ken

Ken;
System Volume Information is the System Restore data.

Do NOT delete the System Restore data directly.

Turn off/on System Restore to delete corrupted files:
Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore.
Click System Restore Settings on left side.
Check "Turn off System Restore", click OK, follow prompts and reboot.
This deletes ALL Restore Points including corruption.
Then go back and turn on system Restore and create a Restore Point.
