RE: Microsoft Windows Desktop

I get a message that my VIRTUAL memory is too low and I have to close some
applications. This would be okay except: I close one or more applications -
and I still get that message.

Sometimes there are no applications running and I still get that message.

What is virtual memory (as opposed to RAM)? If it is not necessary, how
would I get rid of VR and/or the message permanently?

Thank you,

Hi BKARAS

Right-click MY COMPUTER & then click PROPERTIES

Click the ADVANCED tab & you'll have a VIRTUAL MEMORY (CHANGE) button

Click it & 'set' it too a maximum of 1.5 times your RAM, click the SET
button & then click OK, OK again & lastly OK again to close all dialog boxes

You need ADMIN rights to set the Virtual Memory size

I hope this helps,

Add more RAM memory or increase the maximum virtual memory setting!

How large is your C drive / partition and how much free disk space? In
Windows Explorer right click on your C drive and select Properties to
obtain this information.

Hope this helps.

It is already set there: I have 512 MB of RAM and the VM is set at 768.
