Virtual IP addresses

Anyone know if virtual IP addresses can be configured in Win2000 (Adv)
server ? We would like to configure two servers (one in cold backup) with
different IP address. When switching the active one would get the virtual IP
address.
Clustering is not an option.
Any OEM tools that do this functionality if it's not supported in MS
Win2000.

Thanks,

C.

You can assign a second IP to an interface just by using
the "Advanced" tab in TCP/IP networking, make sure that
you have automatic DNS updating turned off otherwise
Windows will also associate this IP Address with you host
name.
This works well in a "cold standby" situation.
