Virtual Device Drivers

J

Jim D

When trying to install certain software, when I put a
CDROM, I get the message:

16bit WINDOWS Subsystem

SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\VirtualDeviceDrivers.VDD.
Virtual Device Driver format in the registry is invalid.
Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.

CLOSE IGNORE

What do I have to do to fix this?

Thanks
Jim

Hi Jim - See here and do EXACTLY what it says: Virtual Device Driver Error
Message in 16-Bit MS-DOS Subsystem
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;Q254914 NOTE: You
must have Admin privileges and you must use Regedt32.exe

Or, courtesy of Andrei "Ndi" Dobrin, you can download and try this:
http://www.ndi.ro/VDDFix.exe I haven't used this personally, but it has
been recommended to me. Use at your own risk.
