Using Outlook 2007 and BCM, suppose I am in a Account Window, I can view all
the contacts I have for that account, including the Primary Button, Full
Name, Job Title, Etc at the bottom of the screen. If I then "use" Outlook"
opening different contacts, opening different phone logs, e-mails, etc,
eventually some of the fields on the windows will go missing. My typical
habit is to close the windows/apps I am not using. So once I've finished
with the Contact or the Phone Log or the E-mail, I'll close it.

When the fields go missing, for example in the Account Window, I no longer
see the Primary Button or the name, only the Job Title and Phone number.
Closing Outlook and restarting does not help. The only thing that helps is
to restart the SQL Server (MSSMLBIZ). I've created a batch file that has the
statements:

net stop "SQL Server (MSSMLBIZ)"
net start "SQL Server (MSSMLBIZ)"

Close Outlook 2007, run this and reopen and I'm back in Business (so to
speak). I'm confused. I've rebuilt the Outlook.PST file. My system has
boatloads of memory (2 Gb) and over 60 GB of free hard Drive.

The problem happens whether I have tons of apps open or just Outlook open.

Any thoughts from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

Merry Christmas

Louis,

This is a VERY ANNOYING bug that has existed since the 2007 release. It is
an unwanted resizing issue. If you pinch the border of one of the field
columns with your mouse you can drag this border to the right in order to
display the other columns that seem to have disapppeared. The fields are
still there. They have just auto re-sized down and are now hidden. It would
be nice to see this problem acknowledged and fixed by MS sometime in this
decade.

Thank you so much for this help. I did exactly as you said and there it was.
I thought it was me! I agree!!! This is a VERY ANNOYING BUG. Your idea
means i don't have to close Outlook, restart the SQL and restart Outlook. It
was frustrating.

Maybe Microsoft will get to the fix once they get through the Windows ME (I
mean Vista) issues. Sorry, Vista's issues remind me so much of ME and the
growing pains. Seems as if every other release has "issues."

Thanks again.
