Viewing .wmf files

Is there any way I can simply double click on a .wmf file in Windows 2000 to
view it? I can view them by inserting them into a Word document, but I can't
help thinking there must be a simpler way. The image viewing programs that
come with Windows don't seem to be able to open .wmf files. Is there some
way of doing it, or do I need to download some sort of third-party viewer?

Many thanks

wmf files are Windows Meta Files, and not graphics files.
They need special interpretation to be displayed. They're
kind of like a vector command set. That's why only some
programs can interpret them. I would recommend you search
the internet for a Windows Meta File Viewer. Hope this
helps.

Irfanview can view them, and it's free. There a brand new version just
out.
