View Dial-up connection speed

On Windows 98 I was able to view the connection speed by
hovering my mouse cursor over the dial-up connection Icon
in the system tray. The dial-up icon is not visable in the
system tray on XP. How do I view my dial-up connection
speed with Windows XP?

The dial up connection icon is shown in XP also provided you have selected
that option in connectoid property. To show the icon, right click on
connectoid, click on properties and ensure that "Show icon in notification
area when connected" is checked.
