Videocard

Is there a correct newsgroup to ask about video cards. Running XP SP2. I am
at a distance from home. I brought a spare video card out of an old PC
hoping to fit here where I have a spare Monitor, but the connector pins are
a different shape. I have run Belarc Adviser which gives the following
information foir the display adapter.

Is this enough information to enable me to buy a second video adapter? What
type would I be looking for?

RADEON 7200 [Display adapter]

The7200 is an AGP card so it all depends on what your MoBo supports,
could be you need
1. PCI [unlikely]
2.AGP
3. PCIE

You want to use both adapters simultaneously with 2 monitors ?

MB's usually only have one slot for a graphics card. The second card will
need to be whatever will fit in an open slot, most likely PCI.

The other option is to purchase a 'dual head' video card for your setup. A
'dual head' card has 2 separate connectors to connect 2 monitors to.

And will any dual head card do or are there different types and if so how do
I make sure I get the right one?

Yes I want to use two monitors at the same time on one PC. I connect to a
server in England and have that on one monitor and use the other on MIE.

I think someone already pointed out that the current card is an AGP.
Consult your user manual to be sure.

Here's a link to a pricewatch.com search for 'dual' in the video cards
section: (note, some results do not have 2 outputs, but dual was found)

http://castle.pricewatch.com/s/search.asp?s=dual&c=Video+Card&i=37

(I find this a good way to find hardware, you can look at your price point,
and then see what is available.)

Look up some of the models at their respective mfg's websites, look for AGP
cards, to see what features each has, and what your needs are, what you
intend to do.

You can then purchase online, or see if you can find the same/similar card
retail.

I'm in England. Would the following be OK for an old VGA monitor plus a new
TFT monitor?
