Video or power problem?

I had a problem a couple of weeks ago where, in the middle of playing Halo,
the monitor went out of frequency, blank. I restart, and windows won't
start. I had hdd problems with it clicking nonstop.. resetting every few
seconds, and many other problems that made it impossible to install windows
again or get it to start. I took everything out and reseated it again. No
problems after i did that, and hdd is workin perfect.

I then play Far Cry demo, and it freezes on me completely. I try to restart,
and the pc won't start again. After a couple more attempts it starts again
and is working ok now.

I have a new 9700 Pro in it, and the fan is working. I think the power
supply is either a 250 or 300 watt.

The hard drive is not trashed. It works perfectly now. It only had weird
problems that first time halo crashed, and my whole system was having huge
problems... before i took everything out and put it back in. It's
definitely not the hard drive, and hasn't clicked once since that first
episode i mentioned in my intial post.

Your power supply is TOO small, and probably inexpensive and of poor
quality, on a guess. Invest in a decent good quality adequate wattage power
supply and your problems should leave.

.... that PSU sounds.. weak

Ticking harddisks generally is a sign of power problems.

Do get a new PSU, a nice.. enermax orso.. rated at 400W... that means
400W that can be given for..years...if needed. Not 400W that runs down
the PSU within hours like cheap ass PSU's

Enermax 400W is my advice, though the 350W probably will work fine to!
