video display problems

whenever i play grand theft auto 3, the screen is
splotched with pixels in a pattern (when there's no 3d
shown like a menu) but in the actual game (or when i'm
doing something 3d like a 3d screensaver) EVERY polygon
is drawn from the center of the screen.

i have directx 8.1 installed. i previously had 9.0b
installed, but i reinstalled windows. it didnt help


what to do?

Have you tried an updated video driver?
Go to the manufacturer's web site and look around for newer drivers. Re-install
DirectX 9.
