WinXP Pro Display Problem

After I installed a ViewSonic VE700 LCD monitor on this computer, something
odd happened that causes the WindowsXP startup logo or "boilerplate" display
to appear abnormally. Instead of being displayed in the center of the
screen, it appears offset upward in such a fashion that about 1/3 of the top
portion of the startup logo is truncated off of the top of the screen. The
same thing happens when trying to play 3D Pinball in full-screen mode.
Everything else displays properly.

I tried reinstalling the drivers CD that came with the ViewSonic monitor,
but that didn't solve the problem.

How can I get the display of the WindowsXP startup logo and 3D Pinball
(full-screen mode) to display properly?

I shall greatly appreciate your help.

Thanks, Bob!

Are you referring to the adjustment buttons on the monitor itself? If so,
I've tried that. The problem is that I can't get the WindowsXP Startup Logo
to stay on the screen long enough to manipulate the image to where it should
appear. As far as I know, there's no way to use the Pause button on my
keyboard to make the WindowsXP Startup Logo freeze on the screen while I use
the 4-button array on the monitor to move the Startup Logo downward. When
I've tried to catch it on the fly, so to speak, the Startup Logo goes by
much too fast for me to adjust the display as needed--even if I reboot the
computer time-after-time and keep messing with the buttons on the monitor
for the few moments while the Startup Logo is on the screen.

If you're referring to some way to adjust the monitor from WindowsXP Pro, I
don't know where to locate the "Mode operational" that you referred to.

So, I'd very much appreciate it if you would be kind enough to clarify.

Pressing Del or F2 to invoke BIOS setup will hold the screen OR adjust
it with the "3D Pinball" running.
