Video Device Currenly in Use

Did anyone ever find out what's up with the "The video device is currently in
use…" message after choosing File > Capture Video in MM 2.1? I just noticed
it happens with my ATI All-In-Wonder Rage 128 Pro too. Haven't had a chance
to play around with it. I did notice is shares IRQ 11 without about half a
dozen other devices (in Device Manager).

I'm having the same problem attaching an analog video camera to my ATI 8500-DV All-in-one video card.
The last time I tried it several years ago-everything worked fine in MM 2.0

Is this a MM 2.1 problem or an ATI/system problem - I don't have any idea where to start!

My message is the same - "The video device is currently in use. Close any other applications that are using the device and try again"

Solved my problem - quite obvious once I thought about it -

Turned off my Norton Firewall - and regained use of the port.
Turned it back on when done.

Now I need how to configure the ports so that it is open without the off/on routine...

I'll have to see if that helps with SP2 firewall. Thanks. I suspected that
might be the case with a 1394 port being used as a network bridge. But the
video capture port on a graphics card? Seems a little weird.

Thanks for getting back to me.
