I purchased window xp home and updated MM to MM2. I have
an ALL-IN-WONDER RAGE PRO 128. I updated its driver to
6.13.3279. I tried to capture analog video and I
recieved these messages:

"This device is currently in use. Close any other
application that is using this device and try again."

click OK,then

"The video device can not be used at this time because
there has been an error when starting this device."

helppppp!

I found this ....

Analog capture devices (such as PCI cards with video decoder chips that use
WDM drivers) cannot use this translation software. The original VfW drivers
for these
analog capture devices will continue to work but they cannot be used in
combination with the newer WDM drivers.
An updated version of this translation software is available at
http://www.microsoft.com/support.
For information, search for "Video for Windows WDM".

I too have an Adaptec PCI 2010 and have unfortunately just come across this
on their website...

The VideOh! products cannot be used by Windows Movie Maker to capture video,
as they are not designed to work under the application. The software supplied
with the units - MyDVD - was written specifically for the Adaptec drivers to
capture video. It provides a solution for you to convert analog camcorder
video to digital format.

Other capture programs that are not designed to accommodate the VideOh!
capture device, might not work as well. Most of these software programs can
capture video in a common format or digital format, but are not capable of
converting an analog signal into a digital format. This is where the MyDVD
program comes into the picture. MyDVD uses high quality video CODECs
(CODer/DECoder) that will allow you to capture analog video and convert it
into either an MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 format.

Would've been nice if this was printed on the box.
