Video card gone out

It looks like the video card on our HP515 went out. On XP
Home is there a way to use a network connection to get to
the files on the computer? The problem occurred when the
color setup was changed from true color to 256 after we
started encountering display problems. On my home
network, only allows access to shared files and printers
on the problem computer.
 
Just boot the computer, make sure it's connected to the network and then
access it over the network. Should work, used to do it all the time.
 
Definetly not the monitors, they both work on other
desktops. Also, add that I did not have the foresight to
turn on remote desktop. Accessing thru network only
allows me access to shared folders and printers.
