What happens if you right click on the ATI radeon in device manager and
choose update driver. Then click install from a list or location. The check,
Don't search, I will choose the driver to install. That should bring up a
list to choose from.
I get a list of drivers but not the 9000 or the VGA that I'm looking
for.I've tried some from the list but they don't work properly. Any ideas

Just a long shot but in device manager, under properties it didn't somehow
become disabled did it? If it shows, Do not use in any hardware
configuration, enable it.
Standard VGA driver is included with XP - it is what you get with safe mode.
