standard vga driver

Hi all. I did a windows repair the other day because my ethernet port went
out. Well windows repair didn't fix it but it gave me a new problem and that
is my graphics card is no longer recognized. I went to ati and downloaded the
newest driver and tried to install but I got an error message. It says to
install a standard vga driver before continuing. Where can I get a standard
vga driver from or what do I do?

I believe all you have to do is uninstall the driver you have right
now.
First, go into Device Manager and right click on your display adapter
and click Uninstall. If will most likely prompt you to reboot. Do it.
Once it reboots, I believe it will be automatically be using the
standard VGA adapter. Try see if you can then install the latest driver
for your video card.
